Henry the Navigator or also referred as Prince Henry the Navigator is one of the important figures during the age of the exploration. He was born on 4 March, 1394 in Porto, Portugal. He is the 3rd child of King John I, who was the King of Portugal and the Algarve. At the age of 21 Prince Henry Conquered Ceuta, which was in North Africa before the Spanish conquered it. He opened an academy for sailors. The academy had Astronomy, Carpentry, Mathematics, Cartography and much more. Prince Henry also sponsored some expeditions. He also used to trade with other countries; He died on 13 November, 1460 in Sagres, Portugal.
